Turing Scheme — higher education placements, 2026–27

For eligible study, work or volunteering placements arranged through a participating UK or British overseas territory higher education provider.

Funding: Contribution towards eligible placement costs; ask your institution for its allocation.

Deadline: Your university sets its student process and deadlines; the provider application round is separate.

  • Enrolled with the sending eligible higher education provider, or an eligible recent graduate.
  • Placements normally last 14 days to 12 months within the 2026–27 scheme period.
  • Your institution must have funding and approve the placement. Nationality alone does not determine eligibility.

    Independent holiday travel is outside this route. Recent-graduate activities and timing have additional restrictions. Apply through your institution, not through oveloworld.

    JASSO — Student Exchange Support Program

    For eligible short-term exchange study in Japan under an agreement or arrangement between the home and Japanese institutions.

    Funding: The reference page lists JPY 80,000 per month. Availability and any current changes need host confirmation.

    Deadline: Host-institution selection and deadlines apply; there is no direct student application to JASSO for this route.

    • Accepted by a Japanese institution under an eligible exchange arrangement.
    • Exchange stay from eight days to one year, with academic and financial-need conditions.
    • Students normally return to complete their studies at their home institution; other scholarship support can affect eligibility.

      Independent sightseeing, a casual course or acceptance alone does not establish a scholarship award. The Japanese institution applies.
